DALLAS – Dallas police say Inequa Rushing and Waylon McDonald robbed a Comerica Bank on Tuesday while their baby was in the backseat of the getaway car.

Police said Rushing walked into the bank while McDonald waited outside.  She handed a note to the teller saying she had a gun and wanted money.

The woman put the money in her purse. But police said what she didnt know was that the teller put a dye pack in there too. It went off while she was making her getaway.

Police said the couple made the mistake of thowing the purse out.  Inside officers find Rushing’s ID and address.

Officers later arrested them at their home on Hatcher Street.

Police said they admitted an infant was in the car at the time, and that the child was sick.  Born premature, the child has to be on oxygen 24 hours a day.

“They could very well be charged with child endangerment because they did endanger the life of a child.  They committed a bank robbery. She said she had a gun. They sped away in a very, very dangerous manner,” said Sr. Cpl. Janice Crowther.

Both are charged with aggravated assault and are in federal custody.

McDonald does have a criminal history that includes theft, robbery and burglary.
