Plano siblings raise money for Haiti relief

Dismiss

PLANO — Many people have been touched by the horrible situation following the earthquake in Haiti.

Two North Texas children decided to do something about it.

Six-year-old Kylee Burton and her eight-year old brother Jake stood on a street corner in Plano to collect money. The kids did this over three days while carrying signs reading “Spare change for Haiti” and “Thank you.”

Who’s making donations? “Lots of people we do not know and some people we know,” Jake said.

So far, the siblings have raised more than $200, and they plan to turn the cash over to the American Red Cross later this week.
