SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested after San Antonio police found $2 million worth of marijuana underneath crates of watermelons following a traffic stop.

San Antonio police spokesman Matthew Porter says that Juan Francisco Alcala, of Chula Vista, Calif., remained in Bexar County jail Sunday on one count of possession of marijuana from 50 to 2,000 pounds. His bond was set at $20,000. Porter says he did not know if Alcala had an attorney.

Alcala was stopped early Sunday morning after officers noticed one of the headlights on the tractor-trailer he was driving was out. A San Antonio Police Department incident report states he was the sole occupant of the cab.
