Grand Hustle leader T.I. recently opened up about his time behind bars and said his forthcoming solo album will be more “aggressive” than 2008’s Paper Trail.

Although he has not yet chosen a title for the project, Tip claims he sounds like his “classic” self.

“I’m happy to be home,” T.I. said in a video. “I learned a lot, grew a lot and now I think it’s time to put all that to good use. I didn’t write too much, people might thought I was doing a lot of writing but I didn’t write that much, you know. I didn’t get a lot of time to. It was a lot of activity around me so I wasn’t really motivated to create. I just want to continue to maintain the level of success I’ve been fortunate to do over and over again over the years. Well, this album is different in many ways. I think that Paper Trail was a lot more about thoughts and this is more about feelings. And this is significantly more aggressive, at this point in the production. Who knows, I could do ten love songs tomorrow and change the direction but as of right now, it’s going hard. It’s going hard like classic T.I.” (Trap Muzik)

The rapper was released from a halfway house under restrictions in late March.

T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ the rapper — who’s been serving the last 30 days of his sentence under house arrest — will officially be done today. T.I. will now be placed under 23 days of supervised release … which means he’ll have to be home by 11 PM unless he’s performing, when he’ll have to be in by 1 AM. The rapper — real name Clifford Harris — will also have to complete 400 hours of community service and will be on probation for three years. (TMZ)

Last month, Tip said there were plans to drop his next album in the summer.

“I really do appreciate the support and how hard y’all was going in during the brief hiatus,” T.I. said during a conference all. “The support don’t go unnoticed and I don’t take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album, not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It’s properly entitled ‘I’m Back.’ It’s a lot of things that needed to be spoken on, you know. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed and this was the greatest platform for me to do it…Album drops August 24th, title? I got one but I ain’t gonna say it yet. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I’m sure you guys will enjoy it…Middle of April, beginning of May. Y’all gonna start seeing me. Y’all already know, once again it’s on. Like we always do this time.” (Rap Radar)

T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” hitmaker Jim Jonsin previously discussed the rapper’s new album.

“It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat,” Jonsin said in an interview. “He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in. He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email. He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.” (Rap-Up)
