DALLAS – Brazen bandits walked into a Dallas store during business hours and took the ATM. And police said witnesses watched as they took it back to an apartment.
Police said officers recovered a stolen ATM from an apartment in the 9600 block of Forest Lane just a short time after it was reported stolen from the nearby American Dollar + Store.
A witness allegedly saw 32-year-old Quincy Green and 28-year-old Richard Nash lugging the machine up a flight of stairs. He called 911.
Police were already in the area looking for the thieves. Witnesses and employees watched as they reportedly walked into the store and unplugged the machine.
“These people came in without being afraid, without a second thought. They just walked straight to the ATM machine and, as bold as they walked in and took that machine, they walked out with it. Nobody in the store was able to do anything because they were overwhelmed at how boldly they came in and took it,” said Sr. Cpl. Janice Crowther.
Police said there was extensive damage done to the ATM, but the suspects were not able to get any cash out of it.
