TERRELL, Texas – Family and friends are mourning the loss of three teenagers who died after they were hit by a car. The accident happened Friday night in Terrell.
Police say the three girls were crossing the street at the intersection of State Street and SH 34 when a car traveling northbound on SH 34 struck and hit all three girls. The driver stopped and called 911.
Ana Segura, 16, died at the scene. Vividiana Roa, 14, was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died. Ana Segura’s little sister, Jacqueline Segura, 12, was transported to a Dallas hospital where she died on Saturday afternoon. All three girls attended Terrell ISD schools.
Police are investigating the accident and say no charges are expected. The intersection where the accident happened is very dark and residents in the area say the area is dangerous and needs proper lighting. Grief counselors will be available at Terrell schools on Monday to help students cope with the loss.
