Congratulations are  in order for Beyonce who was nominated for 10 Grammy’s that included “Song of The Year (Single Ladies)”, Album of The Year, Record of the Year (Halo), & Best Female Pop performance (Halo). Taylor Swift was right behind her with 8 grammy nominations, followed by Kanye West with 6 nominations. He shares his nods with Beyonce (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration – Ego), Young Jeezy (Best Rap Performance by A Duo – Amazing) & Jay-z & Rihanna (Best Rap Song – Run This Town). Lady Gaga and Jay-z were nominated for 5 a piece. Jamie Foxx was nominated for 3 and Keri Hilson was nominated for two which include “Best New Artist” and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (Knock You Down)

Pleasure P snagged 3 including “Best R&B Song (Under), Best Contemporary R&B Album, & Best Male R&B Performance (Under). T-Pain had 4 nominations which included Best R&B Song (Blame It), Best R&B Performance by a duo (Blame It w/ Jamie Foxx) & Best R&B Album (Thr33 Rings), Jazmine Sullivan had 2 nods which included “Best Female R&B Vocal (Lions, Tigers & Bears) & Best R&B Song (Lions, Tigers & Bears). Trey Songz was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album, Ciara for Best Pop Collab with Justin Timberlake (Love, Sex, Magic), Kelly Rowland for Best Dance Recording (When Love Takes Over) & Best Remixed Recording (When Love Takes Over) and newcomer Melanie Fiona was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal (It Kills Me).

Drake didn’t release an album this year and still managed to snag two nominations. [“Best Rap Song” (Best I Ever Had), & Best Rap Solo Performance (Best I Ever Had). ] He was quoted backstage as saying “Today was a special moment in my life that I can never forget. I used to have trouble going to sleep at an early hour. I used to dream about hearing my name called because I had a Grammy nomination press conference, like this”.
