Hurricane Harvey hits Texas and has been the strongest hurricane since Charley in 2004 for the United States. A mass amount of destruction has resulted in this catastrophic event. This Category 4 storm began its course on Friday, August 25, 2017 near Port Arkansas.

Historic flooding has affected many citizens around the area causing them to be stuck in their homes and in other places. A countless number of people are waiting to be rescued in Houston. At least 24 deaths have been reported by this Tropical Storm.

According to CNN’s senior meteorologist Dave Hennen, Harvey has broken the US record for the most rainfall at 52 inches of rain from a single storm.

I hope Harvey lets up soon so that Houston can revert back to a functioning city. I hope the people who are stranded and have lost family members catch a break from this horrible storm.
