After a week of pain and unrest in our communities, a Black man was discovered hanging in Piedmont Park, Atlanta, WSB-TV reports.

A story that was triggering for many was ruled a suicide, according to initial police reports.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of a young man’s life last night in Piedmont Park. This disturbing event demands our full attention. The Atlanta Police Department (APD) is conducting a robust investigation into his death and I have asked to receive regular briefings on the status of the investigation,” Mayor Kasim Reed said in a statement.

Police allegedly found the man with headphones in his ears and a backpack on. A large green trashcan was found next to the tree that the man could have used for leverage before hanging himself.

The police also discovered marks consistent with climbing a tree and pollen on his shirt.

The incident is raising red flags of skepticism, considering Piedmont Park is a hot spot for KKK members, according to Heavy.com.

Twitter users claim the organization was handing out flyers near the park the night the reportedly hanged himself.

Due to the blatant sketchiness of this discovery, Atlanta police are still investigating.
