Fifth grader Egypt “Ify” Ufele sewed negative bullying into beautiful clothing.

The young fashionista was the talk of #NYFW when she debuted her clothing line Chubiiline last Thursday.

Ify was constantly made fun of at school for her size. “I was bullied, and they called me all kinds of names. One time I got stabbed with a pencil,” she told Today.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, the rising star said she had been sewing since she was five years old–a trade she picked up from her grandmother. Because of the bullying, the designer makes sure to create clothing for a range of body sizes. She describes her unique aesthetic as “African print design with an urban twist.”

Ify, who is clearly wise beyond her years, is so excited to see years of work come to fruition: “I can actually see my hard work is not in vain. I sacrifice a lot of time and money to be a designer.”

One of Ify’s dream projects is to dress the Obama girls and their fly mama, Michelle.

We can totally see that happening for you very soon.

#BlackGirlMagic on fleek.
