Ethan Couch, a Texas teen convicted in the deaths of four people was caught fleeing the country along with his mother December 28th.

Ethan Couch and his mom, Tonya Couch, were detained at 6 p.m. CT Monday in Puerto Vallarta according to Sharen Wilson, Tarrant County district attorney.

Couch violated terms of his probation by leaving the country. convicted of four counts of intoxication manslaughter for recklessly driving drunk on June 15, 2013 in Burleson, Texas. Nine people were also injured. Couch made headlines after receiving 10 years probation after being found guilty. His lawyers argued that he was a victim of “affluenza, where his family felt that wealth bought privilege and there was no rational link between behavior and consequences.”

The teen and his mother disappeared earlier this month failure to  appear for a scheduled meeting with his probation officer.
