During recent press conference at the Essence Fest, Wale announced that he’s working on a “go-go” album. “Go-Go” is a popular music genre associated with funk that originated in the Washington, D.C. area. This will be more of a side project for Wale who is from the DMV area. The rapper compares it to Pharrell William’s N.E.R.D. projects and he’s recruited Chris Brown and Tinashe. He is also hoping D.C. area Go-Go musicians will jump on as well.
