The saga continues…

The New York Police Department is investigating an altercation that occurred between a cop and a 30-year-old man in Harlem. Before arresting the suspect, the police officer and Saykou George got into a fight, the officer landing three punches.

The NY Daily News reports:

A plainclothes cop stopped Saykou George, 30, Wednesday, cell phone footage posted on Liveleak.com shows. George was stopped because he had a knife in view, NYPD spokesman Sgt. Brendan Ryan said.

When the officer went to arrest George, the suspect balked, video of the 3:15 p.m. confrontation on Frederick Douglass Blvd. at W. 129th St., shows. Pushing turned to punching, with the cop landing three blows.

As you can see in the footage above, George also threw a punch at the officer. After viewing the footage, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said he doesn’t find anything wrong with the officer’s behavior.

George was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a knife, and assault on a police officer. We will keep you updated on the latest.
