UPDATE: 4 p.m.

Rich Homie Quan has released an official statement regarding his rape lyric.

“‘I Made It’ was never intended to be released. The song was not lyrically what I wanted to say and was not completed. Without my knowledge, there was a studio leak of the recording. I apologize that it’s out; and I have asked my lawyer to pursue a cease and desist on the song immediately. To be clear, I would never condone rape.”

So, no one learned anything from Rick Ross’ 2013 “U.O.E.N.O” rape fiasco? Not one rapper?

Apparently, Rich Homie Quan was living under a rock when Rick Ross lost his endorsement deal with Reebok over suggestive rape lyrics on Atlanta rapper Rocko’s hit street anthem “U.O.E.N.O (Remix).”

Now, the new song in question was never released by Rich Homie Quan (for obvious reasons), but somehow “I Made It” made its way online. And now, Rich Homie has hell to pay.

The lyrics go as follows:

“Don’t want your hoe, just want that cookie from her/She tried to resist so I took it from her/How you gonna tell me no/You must not know who I am/Even if I’m on the road I see what’s goin’ on cause you know I got cameras/ I don’t know no questions but I know the answers/I throw these black fists just like a panther.”

Despite Quan not releasing the song himself, he still got in the recording booth and laid down these deplorable lyrics. Rape is not a joke, and the celebration of rape culture has to stop.

So far, Rich Homie Quan hasn’t responded to the controversy, but just wait on it.
