After Nelly’s Saturday arrest in Tennessee on charges of felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, his lawyer tells TMZ, “Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, attributes the alleged discovery of methamphetamines on the multiplatinum rapper’s tour bus as a case of guilt by association. TMZ reports the following:

“Scott Rosenblum, tells TMZ, there were 15 to 20 people who had access to the bus prior to the stop and there were multiple people on the bus when cops searched it. Rosenblum seems to take issue with cops on the meth issue, saying ‘a small quantity of [MDMA/Ecstasy] was discovered.’”

Rosenblum told other news outlets, including CNN, he was “extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Nelly has since posted bond and left jail according to reports from the Putnam County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office.

Full reports are available at both CNN.com and TMZ.com.
