Chapel Hill shooting suspect Craig Stephen Hicks has been indicted for the Feb. 10 murders of three Muslim student. On Monday Hicks was charged with three counts of murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. According to the Associated Press, Hicks is being accused of killing University of North Carolina dentistry student Deah Barakat, 23; his wife, Yusor Abu-Salha, 21; and her 19-year-old sister Razan Abu-Salha where police claim the dispute started over parking spots. The FBI is however, investigating if shooting was a hate crime.

Family members of the deceased claimed they were shot in the back of the head execution style and the Council on American-Islamic Relations have demanded the police to comment on the speculations that the case is bias.So far the Chapel Hill police have revealed they haven’t found any evidence Hicks hated the three who were his neighbors, due to their religion. Hicks is slated to head to court on March 4, and is currently in jail without bond. Other residents who lived near Hicks’ condominium claimed he had issues with people parking at the complex which is near the University of North Carolina’s campus.

Hicks who listed himself as a “gun toting” atheist online, had a pistol on him when he turned himself into authorities on Feb. 10. A search warrant of Hicks’ home produced a dozen guns, which included two shotguns, four handguns and six rifles along with a huge stock of ammunition.
