About 200 people gathered in Dallas Sunday night, to protest the verdict in the Trayvon Martin Case.
Some were wearing hoodies, reflecting the attire of the unarmed teenager when he was shot and killed by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in suburban Orlando, Florida last year.
They were quick to point out this event wasn’t just about Martin and their disappointment in the jury’s “not guilty” verdict for defendant Zimmerman.

The event’s organizers started through Facebook and Twitter. They wanted to use the event as an opportunity to talk about violence and youth as a whole within the African-American community. Organizers expressed some disappointment that no local politicians stopped by to voice their concerns.
Dallas police officers stood nearby during the protest, but the atmosphere remained peaceful.
