ARLINGTON – What was once the most popular wooden roller coaster in the country has gone quiet.  Sunday was the last ride for the Texas Giant in Arlington.
Since it opened in 1990, the ride as thrilled more than 23 million people.
The Six Flags Over Texas attraction is set to undergo the largest renovation in Six Flags company history.  The $10M upgrade includes the construction of new cars, steeper banks and a faster, smother ride.
The new Texas Giant will open in 2011, just in time for the park’s 50th anniversary.
