Whitney Houston‘s 19-year-old daughter,Bobbi Kristina Brown, has faced unimaginable hardships in the weeks since her mother’stragic death on Feb. 11, not the least of which has been continued tension between Bobbi Kristina and her father, Bobby Brown. Now, reports have surfaced that Bobbi Kristina wants to distance herself from her father even further — by dropping both of his names.
Sources tell TMZ that Bobbi Kristina has wanted to use her mother’s surname for years, but Whitney never permitted her to do so; now that Whitney has passed on, Bobbi Kristina wants to feel closer to her mother by taking Houston as her last name and shedding the “Bobbi” from her name, so she only goes by “Kristina Houston.”
TMZ says that Bobbi Kristina is making this decision “with a sober mind” and is now in a “better place.” Now that Whitney’s affairs have now finally been settled, we’re hoping that this next step will allow Bobbi Kristina to continue the healing process.
