Fantasia Barrino – Grammy winner Fantasia Barrino has made no secret of her love, admiration and respect for the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. So when it was announced that Franklin would receive an all-star tribute at last week’s Grammy’s Fantasia Barrino was apparently expecting an invitation. Instead it was Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride and others – Not Barrino – so she boycotted the event all together.
“They were honoring someone who is my idol, Aretha Franklin, and there is no way I could have sat there and not got the happy feet and wanting to jump on the mic because she is my favorite so I felt like, you know, at the end of the day I should have been on that stage”.
