Get ready for our next blast of winter weather Tuesday.  Rain will begin after midnight and will change to sleet by morning as temperatures fall.

There could be significant travel problems for the morning commute.  The ice could accumulate to 1/2″ or 3/4″ before changing to snow by mid-morning.

One to 2 inches of snow is possible in DFW with higher totals northwest around Decatur, Bowie, and Gainesville.

This storm will dump close to a foot of snow in parts of Oklahoma.

The bigger story will be the bitter cold moving into North Texas by Tuesday afternoon and evening.  The temperature will fall into the lower 20s by Tuesday afternoon with wind chills in single digits.

The low by Wednesday morning will be near 14.  This is the coldest blast of Arctic air North Texas has seen in over 10 years.
