The Harlem Globetrotters began in 1926 as the Savoy Big Five. Now more than 85 years and 20,000 games later, the team has become one of the most recognizable franchises in sports.

Radio Facts, the leading urban industry trade site, has announced the Top 30 Black Women in Media winners!

Radio One founder Cathy Hughes came in at number two, right behind media titan Oprah Winfrey. As the first black woman to own a publicly traded radio chain, Hughes is deserving of this honor.

Also, Radio One Atlanta’s very own Ebony Steele from the Rickey Smiley Morning Show came in at number 30, while Shirley Strawberry from the Steve Harvey Morning Show came in at number 6!

Congrats to all of the women of Radio One who were honored!

The M-Squared Foundation threw the “Back 2 School Skate Party” on Friday, September 17th. The Foundation gave away Backpacks, T-Shirts, CD’s and school supplies. Yung Nation, Rumell, & B-Hamp came out to the event to support the foundation’s efforts. The skate party was a fundraiser to raise funds for the foundation which supports Single Parent Families through community programs, scholarships & partnerships. What up, it’s ya girl Ms. CeCe Curtis with the Friday Night Lights Scoreboard update. I’ve got the lowdown on EVERYTHING goin down tonight on the football field.

Kicking things off…Duncanville fans I hope you didn’t leave the game early. With 5:50 left in the game Duncanville led Garland 41-34. But with the help of Ja’Taveon Green and Malcom Miller Garland scored 21 points late in the 4th to win the game 41 to 34.

Lancaster beat Lincoln 19 to 10.

South Oak Cliff beat Forney 27 to 24.

Samuel defeated Ft. Worth Trimble Tech 20 to 17

Roosevelt got a win out of Spruce with a final score of 37-6.

W.T. White won out over Hillcrest 35-20.
