As if you didn’t already know, our BOOM Fest 2016 line up is A-one. President Obama even took notice and awarded Houston headliner Lil’ Keke with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award today.
Lil’ Keke, who’s real name is Marcus Edward, received this top honor for his community service work supporting the USNC for UN Women Houston Friday morning at the Exclusive Palace Event Hall. President Obama writes:
In my Inaugural Address, I stated that we need a new era of responsibility– a recognition on the part of every American that we have duties to ourselves, our Nation and the world. These are duties we do not grudgingly accept, but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit than giving our all to a difficult task. Your volunteer service demonstrates the kind of commitment to your community that moves America a step closer to its great promise.
Congratulations Lil’ Keke on the President’s Volunteer Service Award, and we look forward to celebrating with you this Saturday at Fair Park for BOOM Fest 2016!
