Legendary radio vet Angie Martinez sat in on an interview with Rap Radar to promote her upcoming memoir, My Voice. During the exchanged she and the host began discussing her longevity in radio and how important it is that she tell her story for herself. In the interview she said, “There’s some s**t to learn from people who’ve been in this game for over 15 years.” “It’s OK to take a minute and reflect to tell these stories, because radio is not really documented well.”
Her book, My Voice, is her memoir and historical documentation of the last 20 years of Hip-Hop radio through her own eyes. It will be hitting shelves May 17, and guess who penned the foreword: her longtime friend, J.Cole.
