Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

If you can’t keep it real with your friends, who can you keep it real with?

On the heels of Coldplay’s Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show performance featuring Beyonce and Bruno Mars, Chris Martin’s interview with Rolling Stone hit newsstands.

Funny enough, the UK rock star recalls a moment when Beyonce politely turned down a collaboration offer for a song he wrote titled “Hook Up.” According to Chris, Beyonce in the “sweetest way possible” said, “‘I really like you – but this is awful.’”

Luckily for us, we never got a chance to hear Chris’ “awful” song, but after returning to the drawing board, Chris and Bey delivered us a pretty good jam called “Hymn For The Weekend.”

Chris’ cover story with Coldplay will hit newsstands on Friday, February 12.
