Over 40 cities joined in on celebrations memorializing Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old police brutality victim from Cleveland, OH this weekend.

Twitter users from all over the country are tweeting with the #yearwithoutTamir hashtag demanding justice and ideals of racial equality that are championed in the Black Lives Matter movement.

In theme with the events, Ferguson, MO residents held a vigil as well, as the city has become infamous for its police injustice after the murder of Michael Brown and the disproportionate incarceration of its Black, lower income citizens.

Supporters in Cleveland gathered outside the Cudell Rec Center to recognize the young boy’s untimely death with Rice’s family. A march is being held today in town to call for the removal of Prosecutor Tim McGinty from the case.
