@drejohnson1’s #breakfastbite.. The Governor wants answers about the lack of AC in #Baltimore County #Schools, but didn’t mention anything about #Baltimore City schools. What are your thoughts?

blackface00 Because he don’t give a Dam about city school

topchef_ej Same thing I was just sayn

idknofknkianna Baltimore city parents are too busy complaining to social media and NOT to the school boards and the ppl who can help them be heard. Those county parents are writing letters, visiting schools and complaining, taking their kids out of schools until conditions are better, and calling the media putting the issue out there.

lbcardoni He already screwed the city by cancelling the #redline @drejohnson1 what else is new

dredrizzy131 F*** Hogan!! He clearly don’t care bout the city cause it’s mostly black and he don’t give af!! Racist a** government, f*** em

1600mack He didn’t mention Baltimore city school’s cause the governor does care about Baltimore city or it schools so fuck him

thickdiva428 Totally agree @idknofknkianna the county parents get their voices heard and come out with results. I have a friend that called North Ave last week about the hot conditions and two of the employees there said to her well what do you want us to do about it. Having folks like that working at City School Headquarters won’t get parents any results. @drejohnson1

antiamaria1974 I’m a Woodlawn High School parent @92qjamsbmore I have complained since my daughter was a freshman she is a senior now. I called the superintendent on one occasion because they have no Heat either. I called at spoke with him early in the morning told him I went from floor to floor taking tempatures of the school at its coldest one floor was at 22 degrees. They were given a grant of a little more of 3 million dollars 3 years ago and built a ninth grade wing instead of providing ac and heat which we were told was what the money was for. This is her last year I have complained wrote letters and to no reply. It’s a sad situation. Yes they have no ac but they also have no heat and no books!!!!!!

dsaunders730 I think that it’s the responsibility of parents to insist on proper amenities for their children. The same efforts taken to be vocal about Freddie Gray she be used to ensure your children are in a humane learning environment. It sickens me that the city easily gave 6.2 million dollars to the Gray family but can’t give a small fraction of that to put ac in schools. There are business owners that can donate units to schools. Churches etc.

idknofknkianna@thickdiva428 EXACTLY! Those TEACHERS actually went to the extremes of recording the temperatures in those classrooms and contacting the media remaining anonymous which was an excellent tactic that actually forced the ‘BIG’ peoples hand. They have no choice but to address the issue now. I’m not sure if the teachers in the city are afraid to speak up or if they just really don’t care that much to do all that. These schools don’t even have those big industrial fans in them anymore smh IDK how these conditions can be acceptable.

thickdiva428@idknofknkianna Absolutely the truth @dsaunders730 I totally agree with you. If you only have a few parents complaining that’s not going to do a thing.

just_dee_83#AllStudentsMatter!!

danij79 How about all the baltimore city charter schools that may have to shut down next year due to lack of funding….they worried about air conditioning in county schools and it’s getting ready to be cold outside…..smdh

Melonie Douglass Ismylife The governor doesn’t care about Baltimore city school kids

Kellee Foster The governor and county officials are folding because of parents complaints, and petitions. First two weeks of school, county teachers were asked collectively to use thermometers to measure the temps in their classes and send to Baltimore county board of education. Its being talked about because parents are going to school and demanding that their children are not made to sit in unbearable conditions. Baltimore county parents are being active, not just talking. That’s why they are FINALLY giving this some attention.

Yolanda Hankins I agree the governor could care less about the city . These poor city kids been roasting in the school for years. The county schools get a lot new schools, New computer. And nothing has been said about the city schools the kids suffer just the same way

Ri George Well seeing as though city schools didn’t close like county schools did for the heat. I don’t think it has grabbed as much attention.

Jodi Bahr That’s my point exactly there are a lot more schools in the city with no air but it’s always about the county like our children don’t deserve better

Donvenia Jackson The governor could care less about Baltimore City that was clear during the riots….. Seems like he would be content if our kids steamed like crabs in the schools…

Joe Hamilton Governor doesn’t give a fug about the city

Unfnbelievable Mary Their loyalty lyes in the county. My sons city school hasn’t had air conditioning in over three years.

Wranzell Phillips It’s interesting to see people say he doesn’t care about Baltimore city schools. Yet your mayor hasn’t brought the topic up. Your mayor hasn’t complained about it, via the media

Audrey Tate That’s because someone bought it to him city schools better step up therapy 90S

Brandy Brown I’m not surprised! Parents we have to stand up for our children! Speak up! I’m still wondering why the water system hasn’t been upgraded?!

Tiffany Gwopgetta Maybe city parents should complain like we did

Don Thebruhman Walker Nobody but the actual parents and students complains about the A/C in schools. Nobody has done anything about it.

Joelle Hubbard That’s some bs

Di Mill Because Stephanie doesn’t want him involved in the city

Tricey Lovinlife Freely We need the right people in office.

Jada Talley More parents need to speak up. Call north Ave and get local news stations involved. That’s when question get answered
