After damaging his hand during a fireworks mishap on July 4,which left him with a missing index finger, Jason Pierre-Paul has steered clear of media.

But things changed Tuesday night when the Giant’s defensive end posted his first video to Instagram. The short clip shows a harness wrapped around his body as he pulls a sled filled with weight plates.

“God can turn any situation around for the better,” Pierre-Paul’s caption says. “Your hard times will lead to the best times of your life. Don’t believe the hype … Be back soon! #90PC #ImAFighter #PutMeInCoach.”

The strategically edited video barely shows his bandaged right hand as he quickly moves sways his hands in the training facility. The caption proves that JPP has enough faith in God — and his strengthening and conditioning coach — that he can come back this season and help the waining Giants defensive line.

Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his franchise tender, and has instead retreated to Florida to get himself into playing shape.
