Almost one week after Bobbi Kristina died, family and friends gather in Alpharetta, Georgia to say goodbye, The Root reports. As much as some would call this an “expected reality,” one cannot deny that this must be overwhelming for that family and friends of Kristina, given her struggle to fight for her life since early this year. The funeral will be held at St. James United Methodist Church and is expected to draw large numbers of onlookers as well. One hopes that the crowds act respectfully on this sad day, and the media present, give the family and friends some respite.

Kristina’s death comes just over three years after her mother’s – Whitney Houston – who died in February 2012. According to the Inquisitir Kristina inherited Houston’s fortune, which will be in dispute between the Houstons and Browns, and in particular, Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown. It is quite a shame that even before Brown’s death, the two families were sometimes publicly in disagreement over the welfare of Kristina and her fortune, among other things. Notably, Nick Gordon, Kristina’s boyfriend, will not be in attendance at the funeral. Several members of the family allegedly still hold him responsible for Kristina’s well-being while alive and believe he may have been a poor influence. Although the funeral is not broadcasted, Alive 11 has a stream showing guests arriving here.
On Monday Kristina will be buried alongside her mother in New Jersey. She was 22 years old. May she finally find peace.
