LeBron James announced on Wednesday that his production company and Warner Bros. Entertainment have partnered to create TV and digital content. Naturally, speculation is swirling that Space Jam 2 is going to happen.

There hasn’t been confirmation about that, but fans are hopeful because Warner Bros filed new trademarks for Space Jam last month.

“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment,” Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara said in a statement after the deal between his company and James’ SpringHill Entertainment was announced Wednesday, reports Mashable. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”

That tells us nothing, but there was this tweet from LeBron last year in response to an inquiring fan:

That’s all we got. However, a Space Jam sequel is a plausible idea given the circumstances.

Michael Jordan starred in the 1996 original, so King James has some big shoes to fill if he goes there. Do you think Space Jam 2 is happening, or nah?
