The majority owner of the Tulsa Shock WNBA team just announced plans to move the franchise to the Dallas-Fort Worth. He said through an email that he hoped the WNBA Board of Governors would co-sign the move and vote in favor as soon as possible.

From a business perspective, it was necessary to evaluate options to place the team and the organization in the best position to achieve financial success. After a thorough review, I believe the Dallas-Fort Worth area holds the greatest potential to achieve our long-term business objectives.

The team hasn’t been doing so well after their move to Tulsa from Detroit and that has reflected at the gate, coming in last in the league in attendance the past four years.  They were 6-28 their first year, 3-21 second, 9-25 in 2012 and have has similar records since
