Tupac Shakur In Chicago

A batch of previously unreleased works from Tupac Shakur is on the horizon thanks to a deal Afeni Shakur struck with JAM Inc. back in 2013. Billboard reports Afeni Shakur and the Shakur estate brought in Jeff Jampol’s Jam Inc. and Tom Whalley of Loma Vista Records for what was phrased as a “total reset” to oversee apparel, licensing, and other media ventures.

“Some of [the material] is in bits and pieces, some of it is complete; some of it is good, some of it needs work,” Whalley told Billboard. “But I think the work that is left can be completed, and is worth his fans hearing.”

Billboard reports 33.1 million Tupac albums have been sold since 1991. The unreleased work—which has already appeared in the form of Kendrick Lamar’s “Mortal Man” and Derrick Rose’s “Just A Kid” commercial by Powerade—consists of “unreleased music, released music, remixes, original demos, writings, scripts, plans, video treatments, poems.”
