K Dot and J. Cole are friends in real life, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have to be on wax, especially when one uses the other’s name to make a point that the industry needs to ‘step up their game.’ So when J. Cole used Justin Timberlake’s “TKO (Remix)” to finally address being mentioned by Kendrick Lamar on Big Sean’s “Control,” people thought this might be the start of some type of beef. Kendrick was asked recently what went through his mind when he first heard Cole’s verse, and what actions he’s taking to respond. Kendrick also talks about his seven Grammy nominations and what it would mean to him if he won the mother of them all…album of the year.
