Radio One Dallas Station: KBFB-FM 97.9 The Beat’s HIP HOP 4 HIV is BACK!

(August 25th).

Dallas, TX (July 1st, 2013) – Radio One Inc., 97.9 THE BEAT’s Hip-Hop for HIV Awareness is back! “Get Tested, Know your Status, Get a Ticket” it’s a simple, effective message that drives hundreds to thousands of youth to take a confidential HIV test and receive one free ticket to see some of the their favorite acts in Hip Hop and R&B.

97.9 The Beat’s HIP HOP for HIV Concert presented by The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, is an ongoing HIV awareness initiative designed to deliver a positive media campaign throughout the DFW community. In Dallas-Fort Worth there were over 1,350 new HIV infections. Almost 40% (39.7) were of young adults between the ages of 15 to 29. The goal is to equip the Dallas Fort Worth community with necessary tools to live healthy and strong lives, as well as increase the public’s knowledge and comprehension of HIV/ AIDS.

To kick off the 2013 campaign, 97.9 THE BEAT will team up with the City Of Fort Worth for a press event:

WHAT: 97.9 The Beat’s “Hip Hop for HIV” PRESS CONFRENCE

WHERE:  Fort Worth City Hall – 1000 Throckmorton Street Fort Worth, Texas

WHEN: WEDNESDAY July 10, 2013 from 12:00PM to 1:00PM

Confidential FREE HIV testing begins July 10, 2013 through August 25, 2013. Sites will be designated throughout Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. Every person that gets tested will receive onsite counseling, plus a FREE ticket to attend the Concert on August 25, 2013 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, in Fort Worth, TX, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
