According to WFAA.com, Dene McCarter, 44, wanted for stabbing his girlfriend and killing her son in Houston, was found downtown under Interstate 45 Bridge and was taken into custody early Monday morning.

Investigators said McCarter attacked his girlfriend with a knife during an argument on Sunday night outside the victim’s apartment shortly before 9 p.m. Her identity has not been released.

The female’s son attempted to protect his mother, and in return, was stabbed. The son was attacked several times with a knife.

McCarter then fled the scene, with the mother seriously injured and the son deceased.

Detectives said the suspect was later found in his truck, which was parked under a freeway near downtown Houston, surrendered without a struggle, and he brought in for questioning.

As of Monday morning, No charges have been filed yet and the injured woman remained in serious condition at the hospital.
