While NBA fans brace to see if the Boston Celtics will win Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs, one its former players made history, but not in connection to his skills on the team.  Former Boston Celtics player #98 Jason Paul Collins, who is now with the Washington Wizards, made waves across the world today by becoming the first US major sports player to publicly announce that he is gay, and will be featured in the latest issue of Sports Illustrated in lieu of his admittance. While the world is still reacting to the news, the question remains what this means for not only Jason, but for US major sports as a whole?  Legendary NBA player Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who was famously perceived and treated differently after he revealed that he had tested positive for the AIDS virus in the 1991, recently expressed support to sports players that are homosexual and afraid to speak about it.  Then the recent rumors about NFL player Kerry Rhodes sexuality have been running rampant (even though he denies the accusations).  Now this.
