Did CBS have to add an applause track when mentioning Chris Brown’s name?

Rumor is that when he was announced as a nominee for the  Best Urban Contemporary Album, people weren’t too thrilled to see him there. CBS allegedly had to add an applause track for Brown when his name was announced.
