Independent artist Lecrae Moore made history last night at the Grammy’s by winning the award for Best Gospel Album at the Grammy’s.

Not only that, but it was also the very FIRST time an MC/rapper has won the coveted prize.

He apparently reached many people from his now Atlanta home with his sixth studio album entitled, “Gravity”

After winning the award he stated “My ambition was just to make honest music, and I really was not intending for it to be a traditional gospel album or anything. I was just very honest about my spirituality.”

Take a look at what else he had to say:

Lecrae graduated from the University of North Texas in 2002, with a Bachelors in Applied Arts & Science where he gave his life to Christ at age 19.
Not only that, he is also part founder of his own record label “Reach Records” from which the album was released from.
