Think it’s all glitz and glamour in the rap game? Thing again it’s a hard road to success and the sides of the Hip Hop Road are riddled with broken dreams and failed rappers. Last week the “Game” claimed another victim, Azealia Banks, apparently she posted on her Tumblr account, under the headline, “NO LONGER WISHING TO BE A RAPPER”:
“i never was…. and as soon as i started paying attention to bullshit urban media, i started getting myself in trouble. From now on i’m a vocalist, and will not be associating myself with the ‘rap game’… or whatever the fuck that means… no more twitter for me… it makes me entirely too accessible. Catch me on tumblr… it’ll be more interesting.”
And she has apparently fired her manager, Troy Carter, who also manages Lady Gaga. She was just signed in January to Universal Music and is supposed to be dropping a mixtape in the next few months.
Apparently she is looking to become a Dance Artist as the following was also posted on her Tumblr:
“I’m still going to rap… I just don’t want the label and all the other crap that comes with the ‘rap game’… it’s boring. rather be a dance artist.”
Now in case you don’t know who she is in the first place, Azealia Banks was the female rapper who publictly critizied this year’s FRESHMEN CLASS in XXL because the named Austrialian Rapper, Iggy Azalea, who is signed to T.I.’s label, as the first female rapper to make the Freshmen Class.
She also tried to put T.I. on blast for defending his artist……
Guess the only class she is going to be in now is the “Class of the Neverwas” ….
