How it all began:
Monica and Lakers Guard Shannon Brown met on the video set of “Love All Over Me” earlier this year and he was instantly smitten by her, however, it took some work to get her. According to a source on the set, he kept saying ““Make today for real! This is the kind of wife I need”. He also asked her did she like sports or the Lakers and she told him the only person she knew on the team was Kobe
Weeks later, when the video was released, her fans were asked to choose who she should end up with between Maino and Shannon Brown, and when the final video was released; the fans had chosen Shannon Brown.
As time went by, photos and eye witness accounts of the two being spotted out and about together started hitting the media, and Shannon Brown eventually confirmed that they were together in a letter, he posted on his twitter. “Monica is my girlfriend, confidant and a strong successful woman…” the letter read…and the rest they say is history..
